Child Tech Sligo - Recycle Computers
Child-Tech is a community outreach program designed by Mickey, here at Sound Computers. This program utilizes the WEEE Directive as a springboard to keep computers out of our landfills, and instead, put these computers into the hands of Ireland's Youth. Here is an example of how it can work for everyone. A customer purchases a new computer for the home or office. At the time of pick up, customer leaves behind the old computer that is being replaced. During the week, the old computer will be cleaned, refurbished, and repaired, if needed. This success of this project is based on Community Involvement. If you have any Old PCs or Parts, please email me for a time to collect them, or drop them off during normal business hours. Together we can make a difference for our kids and our environment!

- As a retailer, Sound Computers, is obligated to take part in the Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment directive. See more details at www.weeeireland.ie These computers are allowed to be resold under this directive "...for re-use or repair, where it will be reused by members of the general public for its original use."
- Cost of the machines sold in the program covers the WEEE recycling fees.
- Parts and PCs that are not repairable will be cleaned and turned in at the WEEE recycling depot in Sligo.
- Computers are subject to availability and are first-come, first-serve basis. You will be informed of availability once all of the requests have arrived.
